A Trilogy, An Idea, An Award!

Synergy Estate Agents won this year (following last year’s Cyprus Responsible Business Award) the “Limited Budget, Big Idea Award” at the Cyprus Marketing Achievement Awards 2024!

Creativity doesn’t always – or exclusively – depend on budget size. Synergy Estate Agents proved exactly that, standing out at this year’s Cyprus Marketing Achievement Awards by winning the “Limited Budget, Big Idea Award”, for a campaign that dared to do things… differently.

This honouring award from Boussias recognises the originality, humour and ingenuity of our team, which invested in a series of humorous videos for social media, without showcasing even a single square meter of real estate property.

Real estate, but with humour

The Synergy Estate Agents’ video trilogy made a bold turn away from the industry’s typical practices. In a market dominated by static photos and “stiff” property presentations, Synergy Estate Agents decided to change the narrative.

No sales, no listings. Just everyday situations – delivered with a dose of exaggeration, parody, and… lots of laughs.

From the young guy who wakes up every Sunday at his parents’ house wondering, “Maybe it’s time to move out?”, to the know-it-all friend who shows up at the viewing but confuses more than helps, and of course, the real estate agent who is trying way too hard to convince you that “this property is a bargain”, when it clearly isn’t.

The play scripts hit exactly what they aimed for: to make people laugh and – why not –  maybe even relate. Judging by the flood of messages we received from people telling us they hit the replay button multiple times because those funny clips cheered them up, we think we did just that.

In short, we created a campaign that doesn’t sell houses — but talks about the experience of searching for a home in Cyprus. The fact that you laughed means we succeeded.

Big buzz on a small budget

The production was deliberately “minimal” — yet the response exceeded all expectations:
• A significant increase in our social media followers
• A flood of positive comments and shares
• An increase to our website traffic
• The campaign didn’t just earn “clicks”. It achieved emotional connection and active discussion with our audience — and that’s priceless.

An award that makes us proud

The “Limited Budget, Big Idea Award” proves that the essence of communication doesn’t lie in the size of the budget, but in the power of the idea.

The award ceremony took place in the presence of leading marketing professionals in Cyprus and major brand representatives. Synergy Estate Agents’ CEO Christodoulos Kyriacou received the award along with our Media & Communications Manager, Nicola Karatzia, and the Director/Producer of the campaign, Marios Mettis.
